Between the family, the writing, and getting my taxes ready to
submit, I hadn't been out to the card room in a couple of weeks. Finally
went on Friday and played a small tournament that I straight-up bubbled.
While that was annoying, I am long past when a result like that would
actually bothered me. It got me thinking about how long it had been
since I walked into a poker room for the first time. It was a room in
Atlantic City, and it was an intimidating prospect to walk in there past
the large floor man and his broad-striped suit. To try to interpret the
board. To play poker with people I didn't know for the first time.
